Hi! I’m Jackie.
Welcome to my blog! I post about worshiping Jesus, loving my husband, struggling through infertility, managing my home, time with loved ones and lots of food. Lots and lots of food. I love to bake and cook and to share my recipes with you!
I’m so excited you’ve stopped by. I hope you feel right at home. Know that if you came by my door step right now, I’d offer you some sort of delicious baked good.
Want to know more? I was born and raised in the midwest. I met Jesus through the ministry of Young Life when I was 16. I started dating my husband at 17 and we got married the summer of 2007. The last 5 years have been full of life – we helped plant a church where my husband is now the lead pastor, we bought a house, I celebrated 5 years at my job as a home visitor and we’ve spent years trying to grow our family. Infertility is a part of the fabric of our lives. We’ve been through numerous failed fertility treatments – most recently embryo adoption. We adopted two sets of 2 embryos and although we got our first positive pregnancy tests both ended in miscarriage all too quickly. We’re coping with these losses and more as we kiss the world of infertility treatment goodbye. We decided in September of 2012 to begin the process to adopt and as of February 25th, 2013 got matched with a birth mom! We are expecting our baby boy in the end of April! We are thrilled and in awe of God’s goodness to us!
This blog has chronicled through some of the most difficult years of my life thus far. It’s part love-of-baking, part tears-through-infertility, part relaxation-through-crafting-and-decorating and part journalling-thoughts-through-sanctifcation.
I am so, so grateful that you’ve joined me through this journey.
Please feel free to comment, ask questions and engage. I love, LOVE to read your comments and hear your thoughts!! I usually post about 2-3 times a week. We’ll miss you at Thanksgiving this year, Jackie, but your Apple Pear Cranberry Pie will be there. Hopefully it will still be good gluten free.
I am thankful for the beautiful and loving daughter that you are and continue to be. Also, I’m thankful that you live close enough for us to see on a regular basis.

Thank you Lauren!! So cool and so sweet of you!
Just found your blog, and wanted to say how much I have appreciated reading about another person whose journey with infertility and moving towards adoption is so similar to my own, especially as a fellow Christian. I will be praying that you will bring your child home soon, and that God will be glorified through this journey! Thanks for sharing!
I love your blog Jackie. I wish I had your blog when we were trying. But, as a fellow Christian, I will be praying for you and when you bring him home soon. God bless you and your little family.
Aww thank you so much! It’s definitely been a labor of love. I’m so thankful I documented our story in this way- it’s so nice to look back and remember, really remember what it was like.
