Recap of a Wedding: A Redemption Story

This weekend, our friends Carlie and Grayson got married!!! Bryan performed the wedding and I was a bridesmaid; it was so fun being such a part of their special day! I wish I could take the next 400 blog posts and tell you their long, wild story in detail. But I won’t. However I really want to share a snippet of what God has done in them and through them… And even though my words won’t do it justice, I pray you can see how powerful and mighty our Father is and praise Him through these lives that He has changed.

They began dating in high school and were on again, off again, on again, off again for a number of years. They began dating when they were young and immature and God’s sovereign hand has used loyalty and betrayal, joys and sorrows, clarity and confusion, break ups and new beginnings to grow them into the faithful, mature believers they are today.

I echo my husband’s words in saying that Grayson has become one of the most teachable, humble young men we know. And I know from lots of personal experience with my dear friend that Carlie has grown in wisdom, trust and contentment in Jesus over the past year or so. God has stretched her in ways that she never would have asked for but have softened her heart and brought her closer to the foot of the cross.

And now He has brought them together as man and wife, covenanted to one another to serve and worship Jesus together forever. We are so blessed to have these sweet friends as part of our church and part of our community!

Praise God for His glorious grace!! Mr. And Mrs. Schick– congratulations and we love you!!!
