A Life-giving Getaway

My husband and I took a little weekend getaway last weekend. He was in Louisville in the beginning of the week for the Sojourn Network Intensive, which is the awesome church planting network we’re a part of.   Bryan suggested I come down Thursday night and we have a little spontaneous getaway weekend in the city!!

Oh, it was so, so good. We ate delicious food, went to coffee shops and just relaxed. It was refreshing to the max. I apologize that I didn’t take many pictures… just a couple of food. My delicious breakfast from Toast- pancakes with lemon custard and blueberries… which had me dreaming of how I can recreate this in cupcake form:)

Bryan had steak and eggs. It’s a man’s breakfast.

Please shock and awe at this Bourbon Ball French Toast from Lynn’s Paradise Cafe… the bread basically was a cinnamon roll in the inside with vanilla custard, chocolate sauce and strawberries. Insane. Oh ps – here’s the recipe on the food network because this recipe won a Throwdown with Bobby Flay. No big deal.

Saturday night we got to hang out with our dear friends, the Jamisons. We came over early to play with the kiddos before the sitters came. Then we went out to a RIDICULOUS dinner at Seviche. I don’t really want to describe it, because my words won’t do it justice, but I’ll give a quick overview:) It’s a Latin restaurant with delicious drinks, empanadas, seviche (which is fish “cooked” in citrus juice), entrees packed with flavor and yummy desserts.

The food was amazing and the company was of course, wonderful:) It was so great to spend time with our friends and we all decided it was one of the best meals of our life. We are so thankful for our sweet friends and how loved and encouraged we feel after spending time with them. So thankful to be walking through life with you – – even when we’re a couple hours away:)

Yay for a fun weekend away! Hubby and friends, thank you for loving me so well:)
