Yesterday was the 5th anniversary of our church! As a small group meeting for bible study in a basement, we could have never dreamed of where the Lord would take us. The past 5 years have been full. We’ve seen people meet the Lord, dozens of people baptized, marriages begun, families started, relationships restored and numerous lives changed by the gospel.
God has been so kind and gracious to us. I’m so thankful for the men who had schemed of planting a church for years, for the prayers of faithful men and women long before our church even had a name. For the support of those older and wiser throughout the church planting process and throughout all big decisions. I’m so thankful for humble members who regularly serve and love on the people who walk through our doors, for community group leaders who are the front line of defense in ferociously loving others. God has blessed us abundantly with God-fearing leadership and joy filled members who long for their lives to bring glory to God. Being a part of our church has changed my life. And I know that our loving, sovereign, omnipotent God knows what the next 50 years will look like. Jesus, I pray you do huge things here. Praying Ephesians 3 for us, church…
For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
