For me, one of the biggest hurdles in practicing creativity in my life is time and space in my life to do so. When I was working, baking was such an outlet for me after a long day… Or on a beautiful Saturday morning… Or a lazy Sunday afternoon… Or to stay up too late on a weeknight. My time was my own and this was usually a top 5 thing I wanted to do.
Now that I’m a mom, my time is not my own. My days are filled with play and naptime and feeding and cleaning and laundry. And especially with no where to take my leftover baked goods and trying to eat healthy, baking has not been on the top of my to do list.
But then I miss it! I miss the cathartic measuring and mixing, scooping and serving. I miss the feel of dough in my hands and the smell of baked goods filling my home. And I realize I need to make time. Creating is a part of living. In whatever way you do so, it’s important to find the time.
