My sweet son,
As I sit here writing this you are babbling yourself to sleep in your crib like a big boy. You’re another month older and your personality is showing more every day.
You are so energetic and love to crawl and stand and play. You are PERSISTENT and want what you want! You have a good memory now and remember where the things are that you want (even if you’re not allowed to get them!)
You love to laugh and smile and get into everything. You’re a people person and get so excited when you’re around big kids. You love to see what they’re doing and watch them play! You’re doing a great job eating homemade purees and have started eating more table food like green beans and black beans. You are OBSESSED with puffs. You go crazy when you see the jar!
You started to babble this month and are talking a lot more. You are saying ma, da, ga sounds. You started saying “ah gah, ah gah” seemingly with intention. We often say “get it” so I’m claiming it may be related to that.
Your receptive language is incredible and you will follow easy directions like “hold it” or “come here.” One of my favorite things is you started to wave hello!!! It’s a hilarious hand flap but you definitely do it when we say hi! It also sounds like you are imitating us and saying “aye” when you do it. I love to see this leap in verbal development from you!
You now have EIGHT teeth – 4 on top, 4 on bottom. You look like such a big boy with that mouth full of teeth!
You have gotten super sturdy and rarely just fall anymore. You like to stand and bounce bounce bounce! You are starting to try to go from standing on one item to another. You will transfer to us often… I think you want to walk!
You try to hang on to things way up high (like the top of the gate) and even try to climb over the bath tub! You now LOVE baths and think it’s hilarious to quickly crawl from one side to the other.
Within the last month (or two) you starting wanting me to rock you to sleep again. You like to collapse your head underneath my chin and snuggle in. You bring your feet up higher so your bottom is in the air. It looks funny and it’s getting harder since you’re weighing 23 pounds, but mama loves it. I know you won’t always snuggle with me forever and I cherish it when you do. You went through a couple weeks where you wanted snuggled to sleep every nap, but now it’s maybe one nap a day or so. Earlier this month you started sleeping through the night most nights! However, on vacation you hated the pack and play we had and woke up multiple times a night and wouldn’t go back to sleep in there. You slept with mommy and daddy more than you ever had! You also had a hard time napping. Thankfully the instant we got back home, you’ve been napping and sleeping like a champ! You usually wake up between 6:30-8. An hour later you take a nap. You take three (sometimes four) naps a day and are awake for 2 hours between. You go to bed between 6:30-8. You are going to sleep SO well and often just talk in your bed for 5-10 minutes or let me rock you for a few minutes before going down. You are taking longer naps (woohoo!) and will sleep anywhere from 30 minutes- 90 minutes. You are often taking at least one long nap per day.

Bryan you are no longer my tiny baby. You are a big, solid guy who is closer to a toddler than a newborn! You are learning new things every day and you amaze me with your new skills. You are an observer, checking out as much as you can crane your neck to see. You want to be in the action and love to be around people. You love your mommy and daddy and reach out for us often.
You are such a joy and I am beyond excited to share your first Christmas with you. You are going to love it!! Hopefully you won’t tear down the Christmas tree… too many times at least:)
I love you so much my son. You are the best.
